Holger Breitling spends half of his working time as a research assistant
in the Software Engineering Group at the Department of Computer Science,
University of Hamburg. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate supervised by
Heinz Züllighoven. The other half of his working time, he is a software
architect at the university spin-off company c1-WPS (see
www.c1-wps.de).
His current work includes framework development (he is one of the architects of the JWAM framework (see www.jwam.de) which is based on the Tools-and-Materials-approach developed by the Software Engineering Group around Heinz Züllighoven), eXtreme Programming and project management.
His main research focus is the construction and usage of source code generators in context with agile processes. This is also the intended base for his Ph.D. thesis.
Holger earned his Dipl.-Inform. degree in Computer Science from the University of Hamburg in 2001. His thesis by the title "Erweiterung des JWAM-Rahmenwerkes um Kooperationsunterstützung durch Prozessmuster und Vorgangsmonitor" was about the implementation of folders with flexible dockets for the JWAM Framework. Those folders could be used to steer a process as an alternative to conventional workflow system mechanisms.
